Mike Gardner has been a guitarist for nearly thirty years. He holds a Bachelor's Degree in Composition from Boston's Berklee College of Music as well as a Master's Degree in Music Education from the University of Texas at Austin. His body of live performance work includes appearances with George Benson, Rosie O'Donnell, John Davidson, Lorna Luft, Herbie Mann, and Al Hirt. His performances on Holland America, Norwegian, and Princess Cruise Lines have showcased his music to International audiences in dozens of countries, across six continents. He has also performed at a variety of music festivals, including the Huston-Tillotson Blues & Jazz Festival, the Texas Jazz Festival, the South by SouthWest Music Festival, and the Cancun International Jazz Festival.
Additionally, he has performed as an orchestra guitarist for theatrical productions such as West Side Story and Little Shop of Horrors and has several radio and television appearances to his credit. He has recorded a CD with the Austin swing band Victrola as well as a CD of original music for his own record label. His original compositions have been featured on soundtracks to motion pictures including the cult classic film "Bloody Murder" and the critically acclaimed docu-drama "Free to a Good Home."
